I love my crockpot!  There’s always a new delicious recipe to try!  I always look for ways to make those recipes easier and more convenient for those hectic running all over town days!

I found a red wine braised roast seasoning packet by Mc Cormick.  I am not an affiliate of McCormick, I’m not getting paid to write this blog.  I just stumbled upon something I felt worthy of sharing!

I decided to use stew meat instead of a roast.  I knew it would cook quick and then there’s no need for resting or slicing.  I also wanted to serve it over egg noodles.  Since the egg noodles were starch enough, I skipped the recommended potatoes and veggies and went with asparagus.  I enjoy asparagus al dente so I waited to add it until about 15 minutes before serving.

This recipe was super easy!  Add the seasoning mix and water (plus 1 additional cup of water) to the crockpot as directed and mix well.  Add 1 pound of stew meat and stir.

Cover and cook on low for 5-6 hours.  During the last 15 minutes of cook time add chopped asparagus to the top of beef mixture (don’t mix in).

Serve over egg noodles or rice.  We’ve tried both and have been happy with the results.

The sauce comes out pretty thick. If you prefer a thinner sauce, add some beef stock in 1/8 cup increments before you add in the asparagus and mix well.   The photo above shows the thicker sauce.

I hope you enjoy!

I got an InstantPot for my birthday, that I have yet to try out. I have to admit it’s kinda intimidating.. 😉
It supposedly works as a slow cooker also, so I might have to give this recipe a try and break in my gift. Hehe
Have a wonderful weekend and thanks for sharing!
