Bacon S’mores French Toast
Today is National S’mores Day!
That’s right! August 10th is national s’mores day!
The kids and I wanted to make a special breakfast in bed for my hubby. 😀 I decided with all the s’mores craze going on right now and it being national s’mores day we should create a s’mores French toast for him. Being naive, I thought I came up with a genius idea! I thought and thought about how the flavors would mix and what I could do to be unique! Well, for kicks, I googled it and low and behold I am not original at all! There were several others who beat me to the kitchen! This was not going to stop me! I would come up with a small twist to change up the same old toast. Lol. BACON!!! I’m not talking strips of bacon. I’m talking crusted in bacon!
To make Bacon S’mores French Toast:
Prep the crust by chopping 2 graham crackers and 3 pieces of bacon in the food processor until crumbled. Beat 1 egg in small bowl. Cut 4 circles out of 2 slices of bread.
To crust the bread:
Dip the bread circles into the egg and then the graham/bacon mix
Heat your skillet on medium-high heat. Melt 1 tablespoon butter in skillet and add the crusted bread.
Cook until both sides are browned.
Top two of the circles with marshmallow fluff. Here’s the recipe for the Marshmallow Fluff. Not too much, just a thin layer.
Top the fluff with dark chocolate chips. 4 chips is perfect!
Place the remaining slices of Bacon S’mores French Toast on top.
Place the prepared bacon French toast on a baking sheet and top with 3 mini- marshmallows. Place under the broiler in the oven until the marshmallows turn golden in color. Or, if you are lucky enough to have a kitchen torch use that! 😀
Sprinkle with powdered sugar. Serve with a fruit salad. Dig in and enjoy!

But wait….there’s more!
I have a strong desire to not waste food. When you cut out your circles for the Bacon S’mores French Toast there is quite a bit of leftover bread. There is also leftover egg and crust mix. I cubed the leftover bread and added the remaining crust mix, egg and dark chocolate chips. Mixed them up.
placed them in jumbo cupcake wrappers.
Popped those in the oven at 375° for 10 minutes.
Top with mini marshmallows and place under broiler until marshmallows turn golden brown,
So however you like your Bacon S’mores French Toast, muffin style or as toast, you will be sure to enjoy this sweet and savory treat. 😀 My husband did!
